Bakoyannis says NATO, UN back Greece in name dispute

Our demand that Skopje solves the name dispute is backed by NATO and the United Nations, Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis said.
She dismissed the allegations that Greece is stubbornly rejecting a compromise, thus blocking Macedonia's NATO entry."A compromise is important to the security and stability of the region," Bakoyannis told Spiegel daily.
Asked by the German daily to comment the row over a name, which has forced Macedonia to take Greece before the International Court of Justice, Bakoyannis said "Taking your case to court doesn't automatically make you right."
"We can't accept a country that simply wants to preserve yesterday's Balkans political logic and is now dreaming of a Greater Macedonia," Bakoyannis said. //12.15.08
