Thessaloniki, Macedonia Tourist Guide

Thessaloniki is the capital of Macedonia, Greece.
It was established in 316 B.C. by Kassandros and named after his wife Thessaloniki, half sister of Alexander the Great, King of Macedons (a Greek tribe). It was the second important city of the Byzantine Empire (a historical Greek era), next to Constantinople.
Thessaloniki lies in the region of Central Macedonia in Greece, near Albania, FYROM and Bulgaria.
