Πρωην Γιουκοσλαβικη Δημοκρατια της Μακεδονιας-Ευρωπαικη Ενωση

Πριν περίπου έναν μήνα ζήτησα από την Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή με ηλεκτρονική μου αίτηση να μου απαντήσει εγγράφως για την χρήση του ονόματος της πΓΔΜ στην ευρωπαϊκή ένωση.

Ευτυχώς τηρούνται τα προσχήματα στις περισσότερες των περιπτώσεων αλλά όχι σε αυτήν της γλώσσας. Σε αποκριση που έλαβα σήμερα από υπάλληλο του τμήματος διεθνών σχέσεων της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής- τμήματος αρμόδιο για τη διεύρυνση, μου απάντησε ως εξης:

The Guide is intended to serve, in all the institutions, as a reference tool for written documents when reference is made to countries, their names, nationalities, and other specific information.

Regarding the name of the country you are interested in, please note that the Guide uses the provisional reference under which the country was admitted to the UN (i. e. the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia). The European Commission has been following this practice in all its official communication related to the country in question.
