Γράφει ο αναγνώστης Πέτρος Πετράκης:
Διαβασα απο τον τυπο στην Ελλαδα οτι ο επιτροπος για τη διευρυνση κατα την προσφατη του επισκεψη στην Ελλαδα προ ημερων αναφερθηκε προς την πλευρα της FYROM καταλογιζοντας της "εθνικιστικές τασεις". Γνωριζοντας οτι ειναι σφοδρα θετικα διακειμενος προς τα Σκόπια, σε βαθμό ανισο, απευθηνθηκα στο Γραφειο Τύπου της Επιτροπης διευρυνσης, πρωτα τηλεφωνικώς και μετα αφοτου μου ζητηθηκε γραπτως, με το εξης ερωτημα:
Αληθευει οτι εκανε τετοια δηλωση ο επιτροπος Φουλε; Η απαντηση του γραφειου τυπου της επιτροπης διευρυνσης ηταν αρνητικη. Οχι μόνο δεν σχολιασε αρνητικα τις εθνικιστικες τασεις στη γειτονα, αλλα εσπευσε να τονίσει με νόημα οτι η εκθεση προοδου της FYROM θα ειναι θετική όπως αλλωστε ηταν και τα 3 προηγουμενα χρόνια
Την απαντηση παραθετω παρακατω:
Mε αλλα λόγια μας την πεφτουν απο την Ευρωπη και μας την πεφτουν και απο τα Ηνωμενα Εθνη. ΕΜΕΙΣ ΟΧΙ ΜΟΝΟ ΔΕΝ ΑΝΤΙΔΡΑΜΕ αλλα διαστρεβλωνουμε και ωραιοποιουμε την πραγματικότητα γραφοντας αρλουμπες για εσωτερικη καταναλωση.
Θυμιζω βεβαια και τη δηλωση του Μπαν Κι Μουν οτι γνωριζε τα Σκοπια ως "Μακεδονια" όταν ηταν φοιτητης και την προτροπη του (ξεχνωντας το θεσμικο του ρολο προφανως) να μη διαπραγμετευτουν θεματα ταυτοτητας. Αυτα δεν τα λεω εγω τα λεει η επισημη σελιδα της προεδριας της FYROM. Aν ειναι αληθεια τοτε το θεμα θα επρεπε να ειχε τεθει και στην προσφατη ετησια συνελευση των ΗΕ στο υψηλοτερο δυνατο επιπεδο. Αν δεν ειναι αληθεια παλι το ιδιο θα επρεπε να ειχε γίνει. Βεβαια μαλλον αληθεια θα ηταν και απο το ΥΠΕΞ τσιμουδια.

“Never compromise when it comes to your principles. Universally accepted principles… I never compromise when it comes to human rights, basic human rights and human dignity. When it is about universally accepted principles, we should never compromise.”
Identity and language are inseparable part of the human personality, of the freedom of expression, of the human rights.
The time has long passed when decisions were made for us, without us!
No one can talk on our behalf, but us!
No one can report on us, without mentioning us!
No one can write reports about us, without us!
Macedonia is not indifferent nation, as some define us!
Therefore, in this sacred place, once again, I will reiterate the message I have clearly sent on several occasions. On behalf of the Macedonian citizens, I will not accept reports on the Republic of Macedonia which do not include our identity determinants. As President of the Republic of Macedonia, I insist that everyone addresses us with respect, in accordance with the international law and universally accepted principles. Principles which are never compromised.

The article you mention and your formulation do not correspond to what Commissioner Füle said yesterday at the press conference. Please find below the transcript.
"Regarding fYRoM, we exchanged our views on how we see the developments occurring these last months. I have informed the Minister (of Foreign Affairs) as to how I see the high level dialogue taking actually place and especially the three rounds of that dialogue. This dialogue resulted in reforms; it put back on track the reforms in this country especially those referring to the rule of law.
My evaluation on the reforms is therefore positive. Allow me not to reveal at this stage what would be the EC recommendation; I have first to inform the College next week. Let me remind you that the previous 3 years the EC recommendation to start negotiations was positive.’’
