Mt. Athos: an autonomous state in Makedonia...has always been autonomous and has enjoyed relative peace throughout the tumultuous history of the Balkans. The obvious question and it really is a simple one:
If ethnic-Macedonians existed and were persecuted by Greeks and Bulgarians and Serbians in the non-autonomous part of Macedonia (under Ottoman rule)...WHERE ARE THEIR MONASTERIES ON MT. ATHOS?
